Hyperboloid faceted vase

Inventory number: St 573

The eight facets alternate between a plain black surface and a white surface decorated with an inclined motif consisting of two blue rectangles and three black rectangles, repeated five times over the length. Black foot with a cobalt stripe and a band of alternating pale blue and white squares. The top half of the inside has the same decoration as the outside of the vase.

Technique:

Slip-cast form. Decoration with printed contours traced with ochre slip, filled in with matt black, cobalt and pale blue enamel on a white ground. The inside is decorated until halfway down.
