Octagonal vase

Inventory number: St 311

Octagonal section throughout, but with a round neck set atop inclined facets. The two tiers of the base are connected by eight inclined facets. The facets on the tiers alternate between ochre and black. The body is decorated with alternating black facets and white facets with a stylised quarter of a flower. Neck finished with a stripe of ochre slip.

Slip-cast form. Decoration with printed contours traced with yellowish ochre slip, filled in with matt black, watery green, and reddish brown on a white ground. Black enamelled inside.
