Baluster vase

Inventory number: DP 27

Full-length decoration consisting of four equal sections, separated from one another by brown vertical stripes. The top part of each section is taken up by a medallion with a serrated edge around two bell flowers and stylised leaves. Neck decorated with eight stripes (alternating brown and black). Foot emphasised with a brown stripe.

Technique:

Slip-cast form. Decoration with printed contours finished with matt brown and black glazes on a sandy brown ground. Inside glazed black. Crackling visible only in the sandy brown ground.
