Dish on octagonal foot

Inventory number: St 561

The outside of the dish is black. The edges of the octagonal foot are finished with slip. On the inside, the centre of the dish is decorated with a geometrically stylised flower and two leaves, surrounded by a band of alternating black and ochre fields. The border has a pattern of alternating plain ochre fields and fields with a geometrically stylised flower.

Slip-cast form. Decoration with printed contours traced with ochre slip (which also fills certain surfaces), filled in with matt black, green and reddish brown enamel on a white enamelled ground.
